They are the leading makers of advanced Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, which are used in surveillance, mapping, search &amp; rescue missions, tactical law enforcement, and wildlife preservation.<br><br>UMS SKELDAR was planning industrialisation of their medium-range VTOL (Virtual Take-Off and Landing UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle). Scanfil was selected as the production partner for the project. \u201cManufacturing of a flying product is always an intriguing and challenging project\u201d, says Steve Creutz from Scanfil \u00c5tvidaberg in Sweden. Unmanned vehicles are cost-efficient to environmentally friendly to operate due to their low noise, relatively high loading capacity compared to the manned, low fuel consumption, and personnel costs related to the training and operating.<br><br>UMS SKELDAR turned to Scanfil during its industrialization phase to find a partner that could help them take this highly advanced machine to serial production and ramp up the needed volume production capability.
